Cancellation
Extreme weather will be monitored (high winds, thunder & lightening, snow), if unsuitable activities may be postponed and a new date sought between parties involved. If not possible to reschedule, refund will be offered.

In the case that an emergency occurs during a session, school/parents/guardians will be contacted to collect their dependents. They will later be contacted in regards to possible refund/rescheduling depending on the circumstance.

Individual Participants (members of the public) MUST give a minimum of 72 hours notice for cancellation, failure to do so will result in no refund being given- unless their space can be successfully filled by another paying customer before the event takes place.

Where groups cancel less than a week (7 days) before scheduled session, session will be rescheduled if possible. Where it is not possible, the group is liable to be charged 100% of the cost for the sessions missed.
Cancellation within 14 days without rescheduling- liable to pay 50% of the cost for missed session.

Acknowledgement of Risk
As with any activity, at Forest School there is an element of risk involved to the participant. The risks are assessed carefully by the Forest School leader using a risk-benefit analysis. This determines whether the benefits, i.e. the learning potential of the so called risky activity outweighs the potential for harm. In most scenarios it does (in combination with carefully planned safety measures) - for example learning to light a fire has the potential to cause burns, however when taking place in a supervised scenario with an expert, it also provides multiple benefits to the participant e.g. boosts in confidence, understanding of fire safety, learning to work in a team, understanding how to manage a fire and cook on a fire. In scenarios in which the risk of harm is assessed to outweigh the benefits, those activities do not take place.

Risks are very carefully planned for at Forest School, participants will be briefed at the start of each session in regards to the safety measures, it is important that participants listen carefully to the Forest School leader in order to keep themselves and others safe. However even with all these measures in place, there is still potential for harm, as in all environments.

By booking activities with Dens, Daisies and Discoveries, you are acknowledging and accepting there there is potential for injury which include, but not limited to, bumps, bruises, cuts, strains, sprains, concussions, broken bones, stings, bites, and other possible trauma.
